LEADERSHIP

After graduating from the University of California at Santa Barbara with a bachelor’s degree in Business Economics with an emphasis in Accounting, Brandon began his career working in the Bay Area. He obtained his license to practice as a Certified Public Accountant immediately after graduating from college and continued to develop while practicing for two established public accounting firms in Silicon Valley.
In 2017, Brandon joined forces with his father, Keith, to found Rood & Associates. He has enjoyed working with a plethora of clients over the years, including high-net-worth individuals, small to medium-sized businesses, and non-profits across the professional service, manufacturing, construction, real estate, and non-profit industries.
Brandon specializes in tax and accounting services, offering businesses and their owners the guidance and tax planning they need to navigate the complex compliance landscape. Brandon has worked with many successful small businesses and their owners to optimize their tax strategies, accounting nuances and internal controls. Brandon’s prior attestation experience heightened his public accounting skillsets and provided a strong foundation to assist his for-profit clients with their needs.
Outside of the office, Brandon can be found exploring the great outdoors, loving on his family, socializing with friends, traveling and staying active.

Family man Manny has proved time and time again that going ‘above and beyond’ really has no limits. There’s nothing he won’t do for his clients, whether that means completing audits on the top deck of a U.S. aircraft carrier or standing in a freezer for hours on end counting fish.
Over his career, he has been fortunate enough to work with a wide range of businesses. After mastering the art of the audit, he expanded his tax consulting expertise, going on to help numerous clients grow their businesses.
In 2021, Manny took the next step in his journey, joining Rood & Dinis alongside former colleague Brandon Rood. Manny specializes in assurance services and auditing, having audited large non-profit organizations, and has provided attestation services in the retail, manufacturing, construction, and social club industries.
As his partner in crime is an expert on the Internal Revenue Code, together they form the perfect foundation for a strong CPA firm.
A part-time walnut farmer, in his spare time, Manny can be found with his family, watching sports or camping.

Dan began his career in public accounting in 1986 with Tollefson Neal & Company. In 1988, he joined a large local CPA firm in Folsom and in 1994 advanced to partner. A CPA since 1989, Dan handled tax planning and business advisory services for the firm’s business and individual clients. His experience includes working as contract CFO for companies in the manufacturing and health services industries. He is a graduate of California State University, Chico and received his Master’s in Taxation from Golden Gate University in June, 1993. He has been an instructor for UC Davis Extension since 2006 teaching in the accounting and CFP program. He also serves on the Board of the El Dorado Community Foundation. Dan founded Staszak & Company, Inc. CPA’s in September, 2011.
ACCOUNTING TEAM

With over 40 years of experience in the public accounting field, Ronald is an expert in Tax and Estate planning, tax law compliance, tax preparation, compilations, reviews, and quality control.
Previously a shareholder of a public accounting firm in Monterey County, Ronald’s career has seen him perform audits of public and private hospitals, manage and supervise audits of construction contractors and small cities, and represent clients during tax audits by government agencies.

Jill has over twenty-five years of accounting experience in a variety of roles in both public accounting and private industry. Her experience includes working for a national CPA firm in Seattle, Washington as well as working with local public accounting firms. Her background includes working for a company providing accounting and business planning services for professional athletes. Over the years she has also served as contract controller/CFO for clients. At Staszak & Company, she specializes in accounting and tax matters for businesses in a variety of industries including construction, manufacturing, professional services and healthcare. She is a graduate of California State University, Stanislaus and received her CPA license in 1990. Jill is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Matt graduated from California State University, Sacramento in 2012 with a degree in finance and joined the firm in January, 2013 as a staff accountant. Matt is a CPA candidate. He works primarily on review engagements for clients in a variety of industries.

After graduating from Sacramento State University with a bachelor’s in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting, Amy obtained her master’s in Professional Accounting from Colorado State University in 2019.
In her six-year career in public accounting, Amy has managed audits of large and mid-sized non-profit organizations, small for-profit entities, and retirement plans. Amy has extensive experience in Single Audit reporting, Government Auditing Standards, and providing attestation services in the manufacturing, construction, and healthcare industries.
Amy enjoys spending time with her husband and their three dogs or playing soccer in her free time.

With over twenty years of experience, Michelle is responsible for providing accounting, compilation, financial reporting, and advisory services. A QuickBooks® Pro Advisor, she helps clients adapt their accounting system and reports to their needs.
For clients that require payroll and bookkeeping assistance, Michelle offers specialist support and training. Michelle’s career has seen her work with clients in a range of industries, including home health, hospice caregiving, advertising, pest control, and construction.
When not in the office, Michelle can be found exploring the Amador and El Dorado wine country with her adorable Old English Bulldog, Zeus.

Patrick is a native of Winslow, Arizona, but has called California home for the past 25 years. He graduated with honors from Menlo College in 2004, earning his bachelor of science degree in Business Management, while excelling as a four-year starter on the college football team, setting a school record for most consecutive starts on the gridiron with 40 straight starts.
In 2010, Patrick further advanced his business and accounting expertise by completing the Certificate of Advanced Accounting Proficiency (CAAP) program at Santa Clara University, deepening his knowledge in complex accounting challenges.
Since then, he has spent the last 15 years honing his craft as an auditor throughout California, specializing in assurance services, auditing and helping small, medium, and large private companies and non-profit entities to establish and maintain best accounting and business practices. He has led and performed audits, reviews, and compilations of entities with annual revenue ranges from $5M-$200M, in various industries including non-profits, real estate, hospitality, golf and social clubs, professional services, and technology.
Outside of the office, Patrick enjoys time with his wife, Anna, and coaching their two young boys in their various sports. An avid outdoors enthusiast, he enjoys a wide range of sports and activities, including camping, hiking, fishing, hunting, biking, swimming, snowboarding, and even cliff jumping into rivers and lakes back in Arizona.

Jasmeet joined our firm in August of 2018 after graduating from the University of North Texas with a Master’s in Accounting (with an emphasis in taxation). As a CPA candidate, she handles a variety of accounting and tax preparation engagements for our clients.

Angel joined our firm in September of 2018. She brings over fifteen years of accounting and tax experience, specializing in corporations, fiduciaries, and individuals. Angel graduated from Beijing Jiaotong University in Beijing China with a degree in Accountancy and earned her Enrolled Agent designation in 2010.

Erika joined our firm in January of 2019. She graduated from the University of San Francisco with a degree in accounting. Erika brings over 8 years of accounting experience from both national and local public accounting firms. Her experience includes tax preparation and planning for individuals, partnerships, corporations and tax-exempt organizations. A CPA candidate, Erika handles a variety of accounting and tax preparation engagements for our clients.

Puneet joined our firm in February of 2021 after completing his Master’ s in Accounting from San Jose State University. With experience in working on a variety of tax preparation engagements and tax-related issues, Puneet is a great asset to the team as well as a CPA candidate.

Taryn joined our firm in April 2022. She holds a degree in Business Administration from California State University, Sacramento, and brings more than 20 years of accounting experience spanning both public accounting and private industry. At Staszak and Company, Taryn specializes in providing accounting services to a diverse range of industries, with a particular focus on professional services and manufacturing.
OPERATIONS TEAM

Since achieving her BA in Sociology from the University of California Santa Cruz in 2005, Brittney has enjoyed an impressive career in business development and operations.
Brittney is a native Californian, and after exploring much of the state, she decided to settle in the Sacramento area. When not ensuring everything at Rood & Dinis is running like clockwork, Brittney enjoys spending time with her young daughter and their labradoodle Penny. She always goes above and beyond to help, volunteering her free time to raise funds for student enrichment at her daughter’s school.

Laurie is responsible for the internal accounting of the practice, client relationship building, all HR issues and general practice management. She also provides back up support to the administration staff, as well as the accounting professionals. Laurie received her BS degree at CSU Sacramento and has a background in public health.

Erica joined Staszak & Company in 2014 as our front desk coordinator. Erica brings with her over fifteen years of extensive experience in customer service and administration to executive level professionals. Not only is Erica the “voice” of Staszak & Company, she also plays a vital role in client relations-billing and payments, scheduling appointments and numerous other office tasks.
Erica attended American River College and holds a CA Notary Public License.

Modesto-born Jodi began her administration career with Bank of America in 1981, working with corporate real estate clients. In her five-decade-spanning career, Jodi has supported engineering, real estate, and non-profit organizations. Jodi began her public accounting career in 2005, working with Dunker & Aced and Yoder CPA before finding her way to Rood & Dinis.
In her free time, Jodi enjoys garage sales, thrifting, and advocating for animal rights.

Eden joined Staszak & Company in January 2024. Eden had a long career in the Title and Escrow industry before joining our firm, along with an accounting background. Eden is responsible for triaging and inputting tax data for the tax preparers, scheduling appointments, providing support to tax preparers and various other office tasks.
Eden graduated from the University of Phoenix at Sacramento in 2011 with a degree in accounting and she holds a CA Notary Public License.
